SPS Security is recruiting an experienced control room Supervisor to work near the centre of Hull. This is a full-time position with the company. This will also be a contracted position with SPS Security.

You will play an active role in the Security team, as part of a 24-hour shift team responsible for actively protecting the whole of our customer base and their assets; as well as maintaining a secure and safe environment for visitors, staff and contractors. In addition, playing an essential part in incident response in the Control Room.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • To proactively monitor CCTV for the prevention of crime and to ensure the Health and Safety of staff and visitors.
  • To efficiently respond to alarms on the access control system as well as dispatch officers in response to case alarms.
  • To co-ordinate the logging and storage of high-value lost property.
  • To manage the issue of high-risk keys and fobs and keys held.
  • To dispatch officers to investigate fire alarm activations.
  • To support the induction of new starters to the team.
  • To ensure an accurate record of events is kept during an incident.
  • To escalate all accidents to the Duty Shift Manager involving SPS staff.
  • To report faults to the relevant contractor where an urgent response is required.
  • To update the staff and operations logs when required.
  • To audit all keys daily.
  • Any additional reasonable duties requested by operational management.

Job description

We are looking to recruit the perfect candidates for the new permanent Security Officer position we have in Grimsby.

The successful candidate must be looking for long-term stability and a view to being based on this site for the long-term future with us. We are keen to employ someone who wants to commit to this particular contract and establish a professional, reliable, and successful Security service.

The candidate will be part of a team of fellow officers, and we ask that all applicants be keen to establish a strong teamwork ethic. You will be asked to conduct duties alone, but the whole effort and input will be designed to give success for the site.

You have experience of working in Security and have a strong background in working with people having a desire and willingness to assist and be deployed in the customer service element to the role as well as assisting the visitors, users and staff who will be based on the site.

Officers are expected to be reliable and fulfil all rostered duties as well as supporting your colleagues and assisting in covering extras when required.

All Officers must hold a valid SIA Licence.

Furthermore, a valid First Aid Certificate is preferred and the ability to get to the site is essential.

 

Duties on the site will include but are not limited to:-

  • Monitoring Access and Egress
  • Challenging personnel to provide ID
  • Monitoring the site and the person(s) within
  • Responding to alarms/incidents on site
  • Taking messages accurately and relaying them back to fellow Officers and Management
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly

Site Support Security Officer in Grimsby Area

We’re on the lookout for a Site Support Security Officer to join our team and work across our key sites in the Grimsby area.

The ideal candidate will receive training at several locations within this region and be ready to step in and help wherever needed. Being able to travel to these locations is essential, as you’ll need to make your own way to the sites, including during unsociable hours.

Applicants must have a valid SIA Licence to perform licensable activities, and it would be advantageous to hold a First Aid Qualification.
